Just like a plump ripe fig, the girl & the fig food is fresh, healthy, and bursting with flavor. With a seasonal menu featuring garden vegetables, herbs, and an abundance of creativity, the rustic Provençal-inspired cuisine allows earth’s true and natural flavors to shine.

Owner Sondra Bernstein quietly opened the girl & the fig in 1997 originally in Glen Ellen, California. Today the restaurant resides in the upscale quarters just off Sonoma Square along with several other extensions of her business.

In addition to the restaurant with the same name, proprietor Sondra owns the fig café & winebar in Glen Ellen, the fig pantry gourmet market and Les Petites Maisons guest cottages in Sonoma.

The new Exclusive Experience with the girl & the fig on WineCountry.com combines her culinary vision into a tantalizing journey for the serious wine and food lover. The Two Perfect Days in Wine Country includes a cozy private cottage, table for two at the signature restaurant, gourmet wine country picnics and VIP wine tasting at Nicholson Ranch and Buena Vista Winery.

The girl & the fig CATERS! is the newest addition to the girl and the fig brand. “Offering catering services was a logical next step. Our catering menus are an extension of our restaurant cooking philosophy; seasonal, local and country food with a French passion.” Bernstein says. A day of wine tasting can be made extra special by ordering boxed lunches to enjoy in a vineyard or at a favorite winery. With 30 hours notice, the girl & the fig CATERS! offers platters of charcuterie and artisan cheeses or a house made sandwich with a side salad, snack and a dessert. 

Sondra has always wanted her guests to be able to take home a tangible piece of their experience from the “girl & the fig” and a memory of their visit to wine country. Published by Simon & Schuster, the girl & the fig Cookbook and artisan produced FIG FOOD product line are designed to make the fig last in your everyday life.
