Fish and Chips
The new Friday tradition at The Meritage Resort is Fish 'n Chips. Chef Laurent is using seasonal cold water fish and Napa's own Napa Smith Brewery Beer to create the perfect batter. Every Friday morning, Laurent brings the freshest fish available from Kanaola Seafood at Oxbow Market, depending on the season, to make the perfect Fish 'n Chips.
Visit the lush Santa Maria Valley appellation and experience its lavish beauty, and stay at the Big America hotel. Our hotel offers its guests a complimentary, deluxe continental breakfast, free high speed internet access, easy access to the Santa Maria Valley Wine Country and the Foxen Canyon Wine Trail, and all the wonderful amenities, and superb customer service you would expect from a Best Western.
Surprise mom with something different this year - an impressive selection of 6 wines from around the world. Start with the bubbly Spanish Cava for a Mother's Day toast, then she'll enjoy a Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc picked for Spring. Three of the most popular reds, a Merlot and Cab from California, plus a French Rich red will take her from cocktail hour to grilling season.
Closing out the Napa Valley Symphony's 2008-2009 season will be a program that offers playful musicfare for the start of summer. Starting with Stravinsky's ballet score "Jew de Cartes" ("The Card Game") to Mendelssohn's interpretations of Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and Dvorak's great Cello Concerto. Soloing in the Dvorak Concerto will be cellist Lynn Harrell - a consummate soloist, chamber musician, recitalist, conductor and teacher. He is in the highest echelon of today's performing artists.
